Choosing the 10-seat Grand Cabin

The 10-seat Grand Cabin requires category D on a 1949 Geneva IDP. Category B is not enough, even if fewer people travel.

Japanese licences and foreign licences with translations also need a category that permits the vehicle. Have documents checked before committing to a 10-seat rental.

Validity and your entry into Japan

  • The usable period is generally the shorter of one year from IDP issue and one year from entry into Japan.
  • Special re-entry rules apply to registered residents of Japan. Discuss long stays or repeat entries before booking.
  • If using automated immigration gates, check how your entry date will be verified. Photos or copies alone are not sufficient for handover.
